Professional Bio:

Jill is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been in practice for over fifteen years.  She currently practices bi-coastly, in California (LMFT 49092) and in Vermont (LMFT 100.0134221). She has a Master of Arts from John F. Kennedy University’s School of Holistic Counseling Psychology specializing in Somatic Psychology and spent the first decade of her career solely in the Bay Area before expanding her practice (and her life) to Vermont on a part-time basis.

She has worked in outpatient alcohol, drug and eating disorder programs; residential and in-patient hospital settings; school based counseling programs on middle school and high school campuses; as well as facilitated counseling in business and professional settings.  She has provided both individual and group therapy, as well as prevention education, peer counseling and family support. In addition, she intermittently holds workshops and retreats focusing on somatic movement to heal trauma-related patterns.

Jill has run clinical groups in private practice for teens and young women, as well as adult women recovering from disordered eating and trauma-related patterns.  For many years, she also had an ongoing support group for parents of teenagers. In addition, she intermittently holds workshops and retreats focusing on somatic movement to heal trauma-related patterns.

She combines degrees in education and Somatic Psychology, along with  extensive clinical experience and in-depth training from forerunners in the field of Somatics to provide clients with a grounded, securely held container where everything is welcomed and anything is possible.

Who Am I Really: (here’s a breather from the obligatory bio)

  • I swim in deep waters and nothing in the shallow end interests me.

  • I am warm, soft and receptive… you will be unconditionally cared for in my presence.

  • I am deeply wired and sensitive so I pick up on things others miss.  It will be hard for you to get away with much.

  • I have been told I have ‘razor sharp’ discernment which I tend to agree with.  I use it gently and kindly but when the situation merits it, I can also be fiery and direct.

  • I am comfortable in dark places so we will leave no stone unturned.

  • I use humor - a lot of humor… it balances out all the crying.

  • I am comfortable in my own skin.

  • I walk my talk.

  • I have piercing awareness which helps my clients awaken more fully to themselves.

  • I love beauty, dance, movement, yoga, art, writing, mindfulness practices, meditation- all of which inform the healing work I do with clients.

  • I have one foot firmly planted in clinical/traditional psychotherapy and one foot that floats in invisible/mystical realms.  I believe our physical reality is only part of the story.
